As a busy mom and business owner, self-care is one of those things that just…well, sort of doesn’t happen most of the time. It’s not that I don’t want to take a bit of time to relax and pamper myself, it’s that “me time” just doesn’t always make it very high up the list. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone on that one! This is why I love this DIY mocha body scrub – it’s quick and easy, but it’s an amazing way to treat myself.

DIY Mocha Scrub
There are a lot of body scrubs on the market, and while many of them are good, a lot of them are also pretty pricey. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t always make it into my budget!
With a few simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry, you can create your own luxurious DIY body scrub.
And it features coffee and cocoa – what could be more pampering than that?
There’s more to this scrub than ingredients, though. It’s also really good for your skin.

Benefits of Body Scrub
Using a body scrub is a great way to pamper yourself, but it’s also a fantastic way to keep your skin healthy. Exfoliation makes a huge difference!
Exfoliating with a body scrub removes dead skin cells to keep your skin looking bright and smooth as well as reducing signs of aging. (Can I hear an amen?) It also helps your makeup and moisturizer go on more smoothly, which is always a plus.
And if your skin tends to get dry in the winter, this body scrub will keep that to a minimum!
The coffee and cocoa are gentle abrasives, which make them wonderful ingredients for a body scrub. The sugar is a great exfoliating agent, but not so abrasive that it stings. (I can’t stand it when scrubs do that!) The olive oil holds everything together and serves as an amazing moisturizer.

How to Make Mocha Body Scrub
In addition to being fantastic for self-care and healthy skin, this body scrub is also super easy to make. You can have it ready in just minutes!
To make this scrub, just mix the sugar, coffee, cocoa powder, and olive oil together in a bowl. You’ll want to stir it for a few minutes until it reaches the consistency of wet sand.
Then, just add a bit of water, a few drops at a time, and mix it until it reaches your desired consistency.
Then, put it in a pint-size Mason jar and keep it handy!
To use the body scrub, scoop a bit at a time and rub it into your skin using a circular motion. This scrub is safe to use on your face as well, but if you have oily skin, you may want to use it just on your body. Rinse it off and wash as usual.
Then, enjoy your smooth skin (and the smell of the mocha) and have a wonderful day!
